the faerie tea party

a quick but fun drawing to do, started off with a tea splosh on the page,
and then spent ages waiting for it to dry. As it dried slowly noticed a party scene developing, just drew the outlines and added some colour.
Looks great fun, hope to add more soon.

jim dine inspired

reminded me of some jim dine work, where he sketches everyday items, thought his things were mainly tools, so decided to add some everyday things from the kitchen.

In eastern asia ''crows are a sign of luck'' , I posted this for Mohamad Rasheed's call for all nations to agree an amibitious settlement to halt climate change,
I thought his speech was truly great.

STOP GLOBAL WARMING

The iceberg, through the red filter.
the different colours reminded me of the thinking hats, different ways of approaching the same problem, also the red is seen as a universal stop sign, to
represent to need to stop global warming.
The staples, the paperwork, needed to make it happen.

drew these pictures, thought at the time they looked like icebergs,
held together, with staples.
think i'd have liked to paint these in a larger format, either as a group or seperately.

Another part of the candle project, this time played about with gloves, filled one with redish liquid and popped it in the freezer, til it was frozen solid. Had loads of problems with the fingers falling off!! Anyway, placed it in a corner with a candle behind and experimented with the lighting.

started a new project, using candle light as the source of illumination,
decided to use an old clay sculpture of mine.

Looked at drawings on 'drawing we do it everyday',also looked at everyday matters and noticed that one of the options was to draw you own hand, decided to do this in oil pastels.
